iEDM are Australia’s leading multi-disciplinary engineering and project delivery firm specialising in major events, motorsport and complex infrastructure.

Our partnership with iEDM has evolved overtime, supporting the brand as the business has grown into a global delivery powerhouse. We partnered with the team to define their brand strategy, reposition their market presence and develop a scalable identity system. This was supported by website design, digital marketing, pitch development and ongoing studio support.

The brand reflects the scale, complexity and precision of their work, while engaging both corporate stakeholders and on-the-ground project teams.

The Challenge

iEDM operate in a highly specialised space where projects are complex, fast-moving and high-pressure.

Their brand needed to communicate more than capability. It needed to convey certainty, leadership and the ability to deliver when it matters most. The challenge was to position iEDM as a trusted delivery partner across government, major events and global sporting organisations, while ensuring the brand remained accessible, human and engaging for the people work on site and the partners in charge of delivery.

Strategy

The brand was originally built around the idea of “Integrated by design”. This strategic foundation reflected how iEDM brings together design, engineering and delivery into one seamless approach.

It shaped the entire brand system, positioning iEDM as a fully integrated delivery partner capable of operating across complex, multi-disciplinary environments. Over time, as the business evolved and took on increasingly high-profile projects, this foundation matured into a more defined expression of their role in the market.

This was nicely articulated in the new positioning line:
“When the world is watching, we deliver.”

Rather than replacing the original thinking, it builds on it. It expresses the same integrated capability through the lens of high-stakes delivery, where timelines are fixed, scrutiny is high and failure is not an option.

The brand mirrors the dynamic nature of the business and continues to evolve on the journey. It speaks confidently to government and global stakeholders, while remaining grounded in the realities of delivery on site.

Ideation

The strategy is expressed through a dynamic and highly adaptable visual identity system designed to reflect movement, agility and precision. At the centre of the system is the dynamic grid, a flexible visual device that represents progress, coordination and forward momentum.

It adapts across applications, shifting from subtle texture to bold expression, reinforcing the fast-paced and interconnected nature of major event delivery. Supporting this is a strong bordering graphical device, used to direct attention and create clarity in moments. The idenity mirrors iEDM’s ability to bring order to complex environments.

The colour system balances corporate authority with subtle energy shifts. A deep blue establishes trust and stability, while a controlled use of warm red introduces intensity and focus with supporting accents to soften when it is required. This allows the brand to shift between high-impact event environments and more restrained corporate contexts.

The final word

Tobias and the Mariachi team have been our brand partners for over 12 years now. The initial strategy work gave us a strong foundation and helped us position ourselves clearly in what is an extremely fast-moving and highly competitive industry.

As we’ve grown, the brand has continued to evolve with us.

It’s been important that we maintain a modern, relevant presence while still reinforcing our position as industry leaders, and Mariachi have played a key role in making that happen.  Having a collaborative partner who really understands our business has been truly invaluable.
